Amritsar:Amritsar Zone of Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, in association with Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority – PFRDA and Laghu Udyog Bharati, Amritsar, organized an awareness session on National Pension System (NPS) – Building a Secure Future for MSME Workforce at Amritsar.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among MSMEs regarding retirement planning, financial security, and the benefits of the National Pension System for employers and employees alike.
Delivering the welcome address, CA Jaideep Singh, Convener, Amritsar Zone, PHDCCI, highlighted the crucial role of MSMEs in India’s economic growth and stressed the need to promote financial inclusion and long-term security for employees working in the sector.
Addressing the gathering,Sh. Amit Kapur, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Amritsar, stated that employee welfare and financial security are integral to sustainable business growth.
A detailed presentation on NPS for MSMEs – Benefits, Enrolment Process and Tax Advantages was delivered by Sh. Abhishek Dhiman, Assistant Manager, PFRDA, who elaborated on the features of NPS, employer and employee benefits, tax incentives, investment flexibility, and the enrolment process.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Sheetal Juneja, Member, Punjab Trade Commission, underscored the importance of social security and financial inclusion for the MSME workforce. He encouraged MSMEs to proactively adopt welfare-oriented initiatives such as NPS, which not only benefit employees but also contribute to building a more productive, motivated and secure workforce.
The session was moderated by Ms. Priyanka Goyal, Vice President, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Amritsar, who highlighted the increasing importance of financial security in today’s dynamic economic environment. Mr. Nipun Aggarwal, Co-Convener, Amritsar Zone, PHDCCI, while proposing the formal vote of thanks, emphasized that for the MSME sector, NPS offers an effective and affordable social security solution that can enhance employee welfare, improve workforce retention, and contribute to sustainable business growth.
Mr. Sumit Kumar, Assistant Secretary, PHDCCI, moderated the open house session, during which participants raised various queries and sought clarifications regarding the National Pension System (NPS).
