Panchkula | Updated: July 4, 2026
The Panchkula traffic police have issued an advisory informing commuters that the road from Krishi Bhawan traffic lights to Rally Chowk will remain closed till July 5.
The road closure has been announced due to repair work on the CBD line between Sector 12 and Sector 12A.
According to the advisory, the repair work involves digging and the use of heavy machinery, which may lead to traffic disruption in the area.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes during this period. Commuters have also been asked to follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed at the spot to ensure smooth traffic movement.
In another traffic-related development, police have decided to remove barricades at Majri Chowk on a trial basis during peak hours.
The barricades will be removed daily from 8 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm.
The decision has been taken following requests from commuters and residents’ welfare associations, who had urged the police to remove the chokepoint and improve traffic movement on the Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway.
Officials said a detailed study of the actual traffic situation will be conducted during the trial period.
Based on the outcome of the study, police will decide the future traffic strategy for Majri Chowk.
