The National Highways Authority of India has revised user fee charges at eight toll plazas in Punjab and Haryana.
The revised rates will affect commuters travelling through Sangrur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Faridkot, Bathinda, Abohar, and Maur.
Commuters will have to pay ₹5 to ₹10 more at these toll plazas after the revision.
At Ghulal Toll Plaza on the Chandigarh-Kharar-Ludhiana section of NH-5, the toll for private cars and light motor vehicles has been revised to ₹115 for a single journey and ₹170 for a return journey.
For buses and trucks at Ghulal Toll Plaza, the user fee has been fixed at ₹390 for a single journey and ₹580 for a two-way journey.
At Kot Karor Toll Plaza on the Amritsar-Tarn Taran-Harike-Faridkot-Bathinda section of NH-15, cars and LMVs will pay ₹50 for a single trip and ₹70 for a two-way journey.
Buses and trucks at Kot Karor will be charged ₹165 for a single journey and ₹250 for a return trip.
At Kala Tibba Toll Plaza on the Abohar-Sito-Ginno-Dabwali stretch, cars and LMVs will pay ₹50 for a single journey and ₹80 for a two-way trip.
Buses and trucks will pay ₹175 for a single journey and ₹265 for a return journey.
At Shekhpura Toll Plaza on the Maur-Romana Mandi section of NH-254, cars and LMVs will pay ₹55 for a single trip and ₹85 for a return journey.
The revised charges for buses and trucks at Shekhpura are ₹185 for a single trip and ₹280 for a two-way journey.
At Lehrabega Toll Plaza on the Tapa-Bathinda section of NH-7, cars and LMVs will pay ₹80 for a single journey and ₹120 for a return trip.
Buses and trucks will be charged ₹270 for a single journey and ₹400 for a two-way trip.
At Khuian Sarvar Toll Plaza on the Malout-Abohar Bypass-Sadhuwali section of NH-7, the revised toll for cars and LMVs is ₹105 for a single journey and ₹155 for a return trip.
Buses and trucks will have to pay ₹350 for a single journey and ₹520 for a two-way trip.
At Kalajhar Toll Plaza on the Patiala Bypass section of NH-64, cars and LMVs will pay ₹115 for a single trip and ₹175 for a two-way journey.
The toll for buses and trucks at Kalajhar has been revised to ₹390 for a single journey and ₹585 for a return journey.
At Paind Toll Plaza on the Sangrur-Dogal Kalan section of NH-52, cars and LMVs will pay ₹95 for a single journey and ₹145 for a two-way trip.
For buses and trucks at Paind Toll Plaza, the fee has been fixed at ₹325 for a single journey and ₹485 for a return trip.
According to NHAI, the minor revision in user fee charges was required after the tolling framework was updated.
The authority has reinstated a wholesale price index linking factor of 1.641 for user fee calculations.
NHAI officials said the user fee had been reduced in some cases last year.
Following the revised framework, the rates have now been restored.
Officials said the increase is minimal in most cases.
Revised rates have been notified at more than 50 toll plazas in the region, but the hike remains marginal at a majority of them.
