One person was killed and four others were injured after a car veered off the road and plunged into a gorge near Jogni in Shimla district on Friday.
According to Shimla Police, the accident took place under the jurisdiction of Rampur Police Station. Five people were traveling in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The deceased has been identified as Peeki, 40, a resident of Rampur. Police said he was driving the car when it fell into the gorge.
The injured have been identified as Sarjan, 36, Jyoti Prakash, 37, Lalit, 27, and Jai Prakash, 29. All four are residents of Munish Village in the Bahli area of the Rampur subdivision.
The injured were rushed to Khaneri Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police said one person died in the accident while four others sustained injuries. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
