Delhi minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Saturday recorded his statement before the Rouse Avenue Court in connection with a criminal defamation complaint filed against Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The court has now listed the matter for July 15 for recording the statements of witnesses.
Singh has filed both civil and criminal defamation proceedings against Bharadwaj over social media posts that allegedly made defamatory insinuations against him.
The case relates to posts made by Bharadwaj on X in May 2026. In the posts, Bharadwaj had alleged that Singh misused his ministerial position to appoint a close associate as a trustee to a private school trust valued at nearly ₹500 crore.
Bharadwaj had also allegedly suggested that Singh used his influence to favor school officials accused in a separate POCSO case involving the sexual assault of a three-year-old girl.
Singh has claimed that the allegations made in the posts were false and defamatory and that they damaged his reputation.
The matter will now be taken up on July 15, when witness statements are scheduled to be recorded.
