India’s youngest-ever international debutant Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shared an emotional message on social media after making his India debut in the second T20I against England in Manchester on Saturday.
The 15-year-old batting talent received his India cap against England after being in the spotlight for his impressive IPL performances and his earlier omission from the two T20Is against Ireland.
In his maiden international appearance, Sooryavanshi scored a quick 14 off 10 balls and showed glimpses of his fearless batting approach.
After the match, the young cricketer took to Instagram to thank his fans, teammates, seniors, and well-wishers for their support.
Sharing a picture of himself in the India jersey, Sooryavanshi said representing the country was a dream come true. He also promised to give his best for the team whenever he gets an opportunity.

“Overwhelmed by all the messages. Thank you to all of my well-wishers and seniors for your constant love and support. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to represent my country, and I’ll always try to give my best for my team every single time. Thank you for everything, everyone,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
The heartfelt post soon went viral, with fans congratulating him and praising his humility.
Many users wished him a long and successful international career after he entered the record books as India’s youngest international debutant, surpassing the previous marks held by Sachin Tendulkar and Shafali Verma.
However, India could not mark Sooryavanshi’s debut with a win. England defeated India by four wickets after successfully chasing 191 runs to level the five-match T20I series 1-1.
Jacob Bethell played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 76 off 46 balls, while Harry Brook scored a quick 39 off 15 deliveries to help England take control of the chase.
Earlier, India posted 190/7, but England’s composed batting and a costly 29-run over from Ravi Bishnoi proved decisive in the match.
