AMRITSAR: Launching the poll bugle from the Amritsar North constituency, BJP leader Akshay Sharma on Monday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge victorious in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections and restore peace, stability and development in the state.

Addressing party workers after meeting BJP National President Nitin Nabin at Halwara International Airport, Akshay Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President Nitin Nabin and Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, Punjab would witness a new era of progress.

He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government had failed to maintain law and order, resulting in growing public dissatisfaction across the state. “Every Punjabi has realized the failure of the AAP government in maintaining peace and ensuring effective governance,” Sharma said.

The meeting at Halwara was attended by Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney and senior BJP leaders including Kirit Dhillon, Baljit Singh and Sanchit Sharma.

Akshay Sharma said that only the BJP could provide impactful governance and bring Punjab back on the path of development. He accused successive governments of disappointing the people and alleged that the state’s image had suffered due to deteriorating law and order.

He further stated that he raised concerns regarding drug abuse, unemployment and the declining standards of government schools during his interaction with the BJP national leadership. According to him, the party leadership assured full support for addressing Punjab’s key issues.

Sharma said that the Centre would give priority to the concerns of Amritsar and work towards their resolution. He expressed confidence that the people of Punjab would choose the BJP in 2027 and usher in a new phase of growth, development and good governance in the state.
