Heavy rain continued to affect normal life across Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, with 46 roads blocked and 181 power distribution transformers disrupted in different parts of the state.
The Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow weather alert for all 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh. The alert covers Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.
According to the weather office, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is likely at isolated places across the state during the day.
Minimum temperatures are expected to remain near normal, with no major change reported.
As per the latest weather data, the temperature was recorded at 16.4°C in Shimla, 17.8°C in Dharamshala, 15.6°C in Manali, 23.5°C in Kangra, 23°C in Bilaspur, 24°C in Hamirpur, 20.7°C in Una, 19.7°C in Nahan and 23.6°C in Mandi.
Temperatures were also recorded at 19.4°C in Solan, 21.2°C in Bhuntar, 23.1°C in Sundernagar, 12.2°C in Keylong, 14.2°C in Kufri and 24°C in Paonta Sahib. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was 9.4°C at Kukumseri village in Lahaul-Spiti.
Meanwhile, rain-related disruptions continue in several districts. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, 46 roads are blocked across Himachal Pradesh.
Of these, 18 roads are blocked in Kullu, 15 in Mandi, nine in Sirmaur and two each in Una and Lahaul-Spiti districts.
Power supply has also been affected in several areas, with 181 distribution transformers impacted. Mandi is the worst-hit district with 122 affected transformers, followed by Sirmaur with 43, Chamba with 12, Kullu with three and Lahaul-Spiti with one.
Authorities have advised people to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel in landslide-prone areas and follow weather-related advisories during the ongoing rain spell.
