A day after Zee5 removed Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Satluj’ from its platform in India, the full movie is allegedly being circulated in several WhatsApp groups.
According to reports from online users, a high-quality digital copy of the film is being shared through messaging groups despite its unavailability on the OTT platform in India.
The reported copy is said to be around 589 MB in size, with a runtime of 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 59 seconds.
However, authorities have not issued any official statement so far on the alleged circulation of the film on WhatsApp.
Government sources on Monday said certain portions of the film had the potential to be misused by anti-India forces.
Experts have warned that sharing or downloading banned or pirated content may violate laws and could invite legal action.
Cyber safety officials have also advised people not to engage with such content and to report suspicious sharing activity on messaging platforms.
On Sunday, Zee5 announced on Instagram that ‘Satluj’ would remain unavailable in India until further notice.
The platform said the response to the film since its release had been overwhelming and thanked viewers for supporting the movie.
Zee5 also said it stood firmly by ‘Satluj’ and the creative vision behind it, adding that powerful storytelling has the ability to inspire and leave a lasting impact.
The platform further said that in light of current developments, the film would not be available in India for now.
Zee5 added that it remained committed to exploring appropriate avenues through due process to bring the film back to audiences at the earliest opportunity.
The platform also reiterated its support for creators and stories told with conviction, artistic integrity, and purpose.
The alleged circulation of the film on WhatsApp has now raised concerns over piracy, digital content regulation, and the spread of restricted material through private messaging platforms.
