Police investigating the Ketan Agarwal murder case have found that the Pune-based realtor had suspected his fiancee Siya Goyal of being in a relationship with someone else before his death.
Ketan Agarwal was allegedly pushed to death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Police had arrested his fiancee before he was allegedly pushed to death at Lohagad Fort.

Ketan and Siya were engaged and were scheduled to get married in November this year. Both accused have been remanded in police custody till July 3.
According to police, Ketan’s father Vishal Agarwal stated in his complaint that his son had repeatedly raised concerns about Siya’s closeness to Chetan Chaudhary. Ketan had allegedly told his family that Siya often mentioned Chaudhary’s name during their conversations.
Police said Siya had earlier sabotaged a planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia. After the trip was cancelled on June 6, Ketan reportedly complained to his father that Siya was picking fights over small issues.
His father told him that Siya was young and may have been behaving that way, assuring him that the family would counsel her.
Investigators said Siya and Ketan had visited Lohagad Fort on June 14, four days before the murder. Police earlier said that Siya had allegedly tried to push Ketan off the cliff that day as well, but he managed to hold on to a bush.
When Ketan questioned why he had been pushed, Siya allegedly raised a false alarm about a snake and tried to make it appear that she had saved him.
After returning from Lohagad Fort on June 14, Ketan again asked his father whether Siya’s background had been properly checked before the marriage was fixed.
Police said Ketan told his father that Siya’s phone was often busy whenever he called her and that she frequently spoke about Chetan Chaudhary.
Ketan reportedly expressed suspicion that Siya was having an affair. However, his family reassured him that there was probably nothing to worry about since Siya’s family was related to them.
According to police, the match between Ketan and Siya had been arranged through a common relative of the Agarwal and Goyal families. Their engagement had taken place in February this year at a luxury hotel in Pune.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and the exact role of both accused in the murder.
