Two students were trapped inside a school bus after a roadside peepal tree got uprooted amid rain and fell on the vehicle in Mumbai’s Chembur area on Tuesday afternoon.
According to civic officials, the incident took place around 3 pm. The school bus was passing through the area when the tree suddenly fell on it, trapping two students inside.
Officials said there was no immediate report of injuries, but rescue efforts were launched soon after the incident.
A civic official said the Mumbai Fire Brigade reached the spot immediately and started a rescue operation to safely bring out the trapped students.
